7 Things Every Race Trailer Needs to Have
When you’re packing for weekends at the track, or are taking a cross country road trip with your race trailer, there are certain things you’ll want to have stocked.
Once you’ve picked out the perfect race trailer you’ll want to fill your race trailer with essential items to help your race go off without a hitch. Part of the beauty of having a race trailer is you can stock it full of items you might only use on occasion. But, when that occasion does arise, you’ll be all set.
Below we look at seven things every race trailer should have, so you can have a successful race day, both on and off the track.
1. Trouble Lights
When you need to do work under the hood you need to way to see what you’re doing. This is where trouble lights come in. You don’t want to have to rely on natural light, or only be able to do repairs during the daylight hours.
Trouble lights will come in handy more often than you think.
2. Cordless Drills
You probably already have a few of these, but it doesn’t hurt to stock your trailer with even more. It’s also important to remember to charge your drills or order a few extra battery packs that you keep charged.
You’d hate to have your drill low on power when you need it the most.
3. Extra Fuses
You can never have too many extra fuses lying around. When you’re getting ready for a race, or transporting your race trailer across the country, you don’t want to burn out a fuse and not have a replacement.
It can be helpful to have an assortment of different fuses in your arsenal.
4. Quick-Fasten Wrenches
Quick-fasten wenches will help you make any speedy repairs or adjustments. Most quick-fasten wrenches have a contoured blade, which will help for quick installation or removal.
Even if you have an entire toolset loaded into the back of your trailer, these wrenches are great to have. Especially when you need to make a quick installation on the fly and don’t want to sort through your entire toolbox to do it.
5. Tie Downs
Tie down straps are a must-have. The last thing you want is your vehicle jostling around as you drive it to the race track. You may also want to keep a spare set of tie downs just in case something happens to one of your sets.
You may also want to get axel straps to secure your race car down as much as possible.
6. Tire Covers
Racing slicks can be quite expensive, as a result, you’ll want to protect your racing tires in any way possible. One effective method is with tire covers.
These covers will help to protect your tires from the hot summer sun. Too much exposure to hot temperatures can actually end up warping your tires, which can throw off your chases, and lead to a host of undesirable situations.
7. Trailer Organizers
Finally, you don’t just want to throw all of these items in the back of your trailer and call it a day. Trailer organizers will help to keep your trailer from becoming a mess. Plus, it will help you organize your trailer, so you know exactly where every item is when you need it.
Trailer organizers will bolt or clip on to the walls of your trailer and you can fill it with items like oils, straps, paper towels, and much more.
